Workshops

These workshops are ideal for people who teach after school activities, tutor or provide childcare (nannies/babysitters). Whether you are an individual or an agency we recommend that anyone who works with children have training on the basics of child development and how to manage difficult behavior.

Here are our workshops we offer and can cater to your audience:

• The Building Blocks: Understanding Children So They Understand You: By covering the basics of child development we show how child care providers can nurture children in a safe and caring environment. Drawing on researched practices, this workshop also walks participants through the basics of common challenging behaviors and how to address them in a healthy way. This interactive presentation integrates case studies, role plays and active discussion to keep all participants engaged.

• The Need for More Higher Order Thinking: Many of the activities that childcare providers prepare may lack the “hook” to be stimulating for more than a few minutes. We show educators how they can increase critical thinking skills and in turn children will behave better, perform at higher levels, and are more engaged. This workshop provides concrete examples that child-care providers can use the very next day.
  We highly recommend this workshop as a sequel to “The Building Blocks” workshop because appropriately challenging children is so crucial to the long-term engagement and relationship with children.

• Learning through Playing: Creating Better Play Spaces: Through this workshop participants will learn about the importance of independent play and how to create engaging play spaces to foster independent play. Anyone who has to take care of children will find this workshop extremely informative and it will change the way you set up all activities moving forward. This workshop will be especially helpful for child care providers of children ages 0-6 years old.

Each of these workshops is 210€/per 1-hour session.

Coaching On-demand

It is not uncommon for childcare providers to run into obstacles with children and their behavior. This becomes especially challenging when they do not have access to a professional to turn to for sound advice. Rather than let small problems linger and slowly grow, we walk child care providers/educators through a very specific process to address these issues in a timely fashion. This process teaches children important problem solving skills rather than letting children believe that inappropriate behavior is sometimes/ever acceptable.

We recommend coaching as a follow-up to our workshops to ensure child care providers get very specific guidance on their particular situation.

Coaching on demand begins at 110€/per hour and decreases in price depending on the number of hours purchased.
